Living the Questions, Defeating the Excuses

Every week brings us a mix of obstacles, doubts, and opportunities. The question is never whether the world will cooperate—it rarely does—but whether we’ll keep moving despite it.

An imperfect start may feel vulnerable, but without it, we forfeit the chance to improve. Progress belongs to those who begin before they feel ready. Life doesn’t hand us answers upfront, but as Deepak Chopra reminds us, “If you live the question, life will move you into the answers.” That’s a powerful reminder: we don’t have to figure it all out today—we just have to stay open and in motion.

At the same time, reality is blunt. The world doesn’t owe us anything. It won’t rearrange itself to make our dreams convenient. And yet, this isn’t discouraging—it’s liberating. If nothing is guaranteed, then everything is possible for the one who keeps showing up.

But here’s the trap: relying on willpower alone is exhausting. You can’t fight your environment and win. Change your surroundings to support who you want to become—stack your space, your routines, your circle, so momentum is natural, not forced.

Finally, we must unmask excuses. They always sound reasonable, but every excuse builds a cage. The way forward is simple: stop negotiating with your limitations. Decide. Move. Adjust. But never justify quitting.

Success, then, isn’t about waiting for certainty. It’s about moving through uncertainty with courage, while building the conditions around us that make growth inevitable.

 Challenge of the Week

This week, take one step you’ve been avoiding because it feels “imperfect.” Start messy. Begin small. Change your environment to make it easier. And when excuses appear—call them out loud for what they are. Then move forward anyway.

“It was truly a wonderful read and something I think everyone will resonate with in one way or another. I particularly enjoyed how Ravi noted the elements of anxiety showing up in all areas of Maya's life, a relatable topic to whoever is reading. The topics of accepting uncertainty and growth coming from being uncomfortable really hit home, as these are core life lessons. I would highly recommend this eBook to everybody, as there are multiple important lessons that can be taken away and actioned (especially with the worksheet at the end!) A great read with a fantastic message for all ages.”

"Rarely do you find a book that is this easy to read yet this hard to forget. Ravi has created a relatable, honest guide for the person standing in front of the mirror wondering 'what now?' It’s a roadmap for the transition, built on the reality that while we might not know our destination, we can no longer stay where we are. Insightful, gentle, and profoundly practical."

“Ravi is a passionate spiritually aligned coach and author. “Forged by fire - the river bends” is a modern day fable that takes one on a journey of self discovery and empowerment. The style is reminiscent of Paulo Coelho and also chimed with Deepak Chopra’s 13th Disciple in its powerful story telling with clear messaging. Awakening to our true potential is surely our greatest gift to ourselves and this book will be a most valuable guide.
