Weekly Reflection: Life Has Been Waiting for You

One of the biggest lessons life has taught me is this:

The perfect moment never arrives.

There was always a reason to wait.

Not enough money.

Not enough confidence.

Too busy.

Too tired.

Too many responsibilities.

Too much uncertainty.

At first, those reasons sounded sensible.

Over time, I realised they were simply better-dressed excuses.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth: life doesn’t stop because we’re waiting.

Time keeps moving.

Opportunities come and go.

Seasons change.

The future keeps approaching whether we prepare for it or not.

I used to think I needed the stars to align before taking the next step.

Now I think something completely different.

The stars were never the issue.

I was.

I was waiting for certainty when life was asking for courage.

I was waiting to feel ready when life was asking me to become ready through action.

That’s a very different mindset.

I’ve also noticed that life has a curious way of nudging us.

At first, it’s gentle.

An idea that won’t leave you alone.

A conversation you can’t stop thinking about.

A growing sense that you’re capable of more.

Ignore those long enough, and life tends to become a little louder.

The discomfort grows.

The dissatisfaction deepens.

The excuses become harder to believe.

Eventually, what felt like a gentle hint becomes a firm push.

Sometimes the setback you didn’t want is actually the invitation you needed.

Looking back, many of the moments I resisted the most became the moments that changed me the most.

Not because they were enjoyable.

Because they forced me to grow.

And perhaps that’s why I’m no longer trying to protect my comfort zone.

It has served its purpose.

Comfort helped me recover.

But it was never meant to become my permanent address.

Growth has always lived just beyond it.

The funny thing is, every time I step outside what feels familiar, my comfort zone seems to get a little smaller and my world gets a little bigger.

That’s a trade I’ll happily make.

The future is already making its way toward every one of us.

We can’t negotiate with it.

We can’t postpone it.

But we can prepare for it.

Not by worrying.

Not by overthinking.

By living well today.

So if life has been dropping hints lately…

If there’s an idea you can’t shake…

A dream that keeps returning…

A conversation you’ve been postponing…

Or a step you’ve been afraid to take…

Maybe stop asking whether the timing is perfect.

Instead, ask yourself whether you’ve waited long enough.

Because the future isn’t waiting at the finish line.

It’s already walking towards you.

Why not meet it halfway?

“It was truly a wonderful read and something I think everyone will resonate with in one way or another. I particularly enjoyed how Ravi noted the elements of anxiety showing up in all areas of Maya's life, a relatable topic to whoever is reading. The topics of accepting uncertainty and growth coming from being uncomfortable really hit home, as these are core life lessons. I would highly recommend this eBook to everybody, as there are multiple important lessons that can be taken away and actioned (especially with the worksheet at the end!) A great read with a fantastic message for all ages.”

"Rarely do you find a book that is this easy to read yet this hard to forget. Ravi has created a relatable, honest guide for the person standing in front of the mirror wondering 'what now?' It’s a roadmap for the transition, built on the reality that while we might not know our destination, we can no longer stay where we are. Insightful, gentle, and profoundly practical."

“Ravi is a passionate spiritually aligned coach and author. “Forged by fire - the river bends” is a modern day fable that takes one on a journey of self discovery and empowerment. The style is reminiscent of Paulo Coelho and also chimed with Deepak Chopra’s 13th Disciple in its powerful story telling with clear messaging. Awakening to our true potential is surely our greatest gift to ourselves and this book will be a most valuable guide.
